Stainless Steel Self-Tapping Screws
Stainless screws for fixing metal jacketing and cladding - they cut their own thread in aluminium and stainless sheet and will not leave rust streaks on the finished job.
Where banding cannot go - longitudinal seams, box covers, fittings and flat panels - jacketing is fixed with screws. Stainless screws keep the cladding tight without the rust staining and seized heads that plated steel leaves behind outdoors.
Grades and types
- Grade 304 for general service
- Grade 316 for marine, offshore and chemical environments
- Self-tapping pan head screws with a Phillips drive
- Common diameters 4.2 mm and 4.8 mm, in lengths to suit the sheet

Fitting tips
- Use sealing washers on outdoor seams for a weather-tight joint
- Washers also separate stainless screws from aluminium sheet
- Space screws evenly along overlaps so the seam stays flat
